About the Troop
Boy Scout Troop 792 is a proud part of the Walter Le Pere American Legion Post 208 family, chartered under the Boy Scouts of America and the Greater St. Louis Area Council. The troop has been serving young men in the Ballwin community for many years, carrying out the BSA mission of preparing youth to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
The partnership between American Legion Post 208 and Troop 792 reflects a shared commitment to service, patriotism, and developing the next generation of community leaders. Veterans of Post 208 bring a firsthand understanding of duty, honor, and country to the troop's program — enriching the Scouting experience for every young man who joins the ranks.
The Scout Oath

The Scouting Adventure
From campfires under the stars to earning merit badges in dozens of fields, BSA Troop 792 offers a full program of outdoor adventure, skill-building, and leadership development for Scouts ages 11–17.
Weekend campouts, week-long summer camp, backpacking, and high-adventure expeditions. Scouts build confidence and self-reliance through hands-on outdoor experiences.
Over 137 merit badges spanning STEM, arts, athletics, first aid, citizenship, and more. Scouts explore their interests and develop skills that serve them for a lifetime.
Scouts lead each other — Patrol Leaders, Senior Patrol Leaders, and other youth positions give Scouts real responsibility and the chance to grow as leaders.
Service is at the heart of Scouting. Troop 792 Scouts give back to Manchester, Ballwin, and the greater St. Louis community throughout the year.
Alongside American Legion Post 208, Scouts learn what it means to be a responsible citizen — through flag ceremonies, Veterans Day observances, and community events that connect them to their country's heritage.
From Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico to Sea Base in the Florida Keys, older Scouts can pursue once-in-a-lifetime high-adventure experiences through BSA's national programs.
The Highest Achievement
Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America — a designation that, once earned, belongs to a Scout for life. Fewer than 4% of all Boy Scouts achieve this honor, making it one of the most recognized distinctions in American youth development.
To earn Eagle Scout, a Scout must complete 21 merit badges (including 13 Eagle-required badges), demonstrate leadership within the troop, and plan and execute a significant Eagle Scout Service Project that benefits the community. The rank is recognized by employers, colleges, and the military as a mark of character, determination, and service.

Troop 792 welcomes all young men ages 11–17 (or who have completed the 5th grade) who are ready to begin the Scouting adventure. Interested families are always welcome to visit a meeting to see the troop in action before committing.
